Terms and Conditions

Effective for all users of WebTa and iJournalPro

These Terms and Conditions apply to all users (“you,” “user,” or “client”) of WebTa Publishing and its associated services, including the WebTaPlus AB-operated website webta.se and the iJournalPro platform. By accessing or using any part of our publishing ecosystem (“the Platform” or “Services”), you agree to abide by these terms, as well as our Privacy Policy.


1. Scope of Services

WebTa Publishing offers a full suite of scholarly publishing solutions, including:

  • Web-based journal management via iJournalPro
  • Custom journal website development
  • Peer review workflow configuration and editorial support
  • Typesetting, copyediting, and XML conversion (JATS, PMC)
  • DOI registration and Crossref integration
  • Plagiarism screening through iThenticate
  • Journal content migration and onboarding
  • Indexing consultancy (Scopus, DOAJ, Web of Science, PMC)
  • Usage analytics and reporting tools
  • Payment gateway integration (APCs, subscriptions)

2. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for all activity under your registered account. You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information and to safeguard login credentials. WebTa Publishing reserves the right to suspend or revoke access due to misleading information, security violations, or unauthorized account use.


3. Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • Upload malware or malicious code
  • Interfere with system performance or platform integrity
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer platform software
  • Initiate automated scraping or excessive server requests
  • Misuse or harvest data without consent
  • Share illegal, defamatory, or misleading content
  • Engage in conduct that violates any laws or third-party rights

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or legal action.


4. Export Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export control laws. WebTa Publishing prohibits platform use that violates international trade sanctions or restricted country regulations.


5. Intellectual Property

All journal content remains the intellectual property of the respective author(s) and publisher. WebTaPlus AB retains ownership of the iJournalPro platform and all associated tools, software, and documentation. You may not redistribute, duplicate, or repurpose platform features for unauthorized use.


6. Third-Party Links

WebTa platforms may include links to third-party websites or services. These are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse or control external content and disclaim responsibility for third-party privacy practices or terms.


7. Fees and Payment

  • Subscription billing is governed by individual journal agreements
  • Crossref, iThenticate, and other third-party services may be billed separately or directly
  • Invoices specify due dates and applicable taxes
  • Late payments may incur a monthly 2% interest charge or the maximum allowed by law

8. Refund Policy

Subscriptions are billed in advance (monthly or annually). Refunds are not issued for early cancellations. Clients are responsible for retrieving data prior to termination.


9. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement with 15 business days’ written notice. Immediate termination may occur in cases of:

  • Material breach unresolved within 30 days
  • Repeated non-payment (three instances in 12 months)
  • Legal or regulatory violations

Upon termination, access will be revoked and users must download any retained data within 30 calendar days.


10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WebTa Publishing and WebTaPlus AB from any liability, claims, damages, or expenses resulting from your violation of these terms or misuse of services.


11. Limitation of Liability

WebTa Publishing shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Total liability will not exceed the fees paid by the client in the 12-month period preceding the claim.


12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of Sweden. Disputes will first be resolved amicably. If unresolved, both parties agree to submit the matter to a competent Swedish court.
